Description Dave Brondsema 2003-10-19 13:30:54 UTC
In kde 3.1.4 (and maybe a few versions prior) the camera:// protocol for kde's ioslaves is missing. I have used this succesfully previously, but I don't know for sure what release removed this feature. Please make it available again. 'kinfocenter'->'protocols' lists the installed protocols.
Comment 1 Heinrich Wendel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-19 15:58:24 UTC
do you have the gphoto2 use flag set?
Comment 2 Dave Brondsema 2003-10-21 12:05:40 UTC
I didn't have the gphoto2 USE flag set, so I added it and re-emerged kdebase,
and the protocol still doesn't work.
Comment 3 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-23 10:48:50 UTC
I think this ioslave went away.

Did you try "mobile:/" or "kamera:/"

mobile comes from kdepim.
Comment 4 Dave Brondsema 2003-10-23 14:43:07 UTC
Neither kamera:/ nor mobile:/ exist either. If camera:/ went away, why?
 It's very nice.
Comment 5 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-23 14:45:46 UTC
It has been replaced (I think). You will need to make sure you have kdepim
installed to use mobile, and kdegraphics installed to use kamera.
Comment 6 Dave Brondsema 2003-10-23 19:30:21 UTC
I re-emerged kdegraphics with the gphoto2 USE flag and the camera:/ protocol
is back. It would be nice if things like this were documented somehow, but
I don't know where. Anyway, thanks for your help.
