Description Simon Gao 2010-04-11 17:22:08 UTC
After upgrading to xorg 1.7.6, keyboard and mouse no longer worked upon restarting Xorg. This is very inconvenient to many users who got bitten by such surprise.

Any future xorg upgrade should add dependency requirement for re-emerging xf86-drivers-keyboard and xf86-drivers-mouse if they are installed and used.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge x11-base/xorg-server-1.7.6
2. restart X window
3.

Actual Results:
No keyboard, no mouse

Expected Results:
Keyboard and mouse should continue to work

Right after emerging x11-base/xorg-server-1.7.6, re-emerge xf86-drivers-keyboard, xf86-drivers-mouse.

For about two years, there's a post-install note in xserver ebuild,
that tells you to reemerge the drivers after major server update.
