Description Tom Wesley 2003-10-18 11:33:29 UTC
Mozilla (or Galeon built against version 1.5) will crash when clicking on some links. Not sure if it's Gentoo related, but an example of the links can be seen at the top of www.livejournal.com.
Comment 1 Brad Laue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-18 22:35:28 UTC
I can't replicate that here with anything from livejournal.com. Can you give
me a reproducible example?
Comment 2 Tom Wesley 2003-10-19 01:58:51 UTC
Towards the top of the Livejournal.com main page there's a "Welcome" link.
Hover over that then click "Login". It crashes without fail here. I'm
just re-emerging 1.5 now and will see if there is any output on a console
etc...
Comment 3 Markus Nigbur (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-20 18:45:11 UTC
works over here. If recompiling doesn't change anything, try (re-)moving
your .mozilla
Comment 4 Tom Wesley 2003-10-21 11:52:39 UTC
this also has no effect. are you using a similar arch and cflags to me?
Comment 5 Mathieu 2003-11-06 03:30:52 UTC
seems to be a locale problem : when mozilla can't draw a symbol, usually
you have small boxes (like euro when it was not supported) : if your locale
don't have a symbol used, it seems to crash mozilla.

has anyone an idea to resolve this ?
Comment 6 Mathieu 2003-11-06 04:15:53 UTC
On other distros, the output of such symbols is like this : (whereas my mozilla
or firebird crashes) :

Comment 7 Tom Wesley 2003-11-06 05:55:21 UTC
should we maybe compare use flags for people's that work and those that don't?
Comment 8 Mikk Murumäe 2003-12-28 04:26:18 UTC
I had the same problem but when i emerged corefonts crashing stopped. Problem was that corefonts were masked (~) and i recently emerged world and changed accept keywords to stable only.

Is this bug fixed with more recent mozillas?
Comment 10 Aron Griffis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-26 07:34:35 UTC
No response, assuming fixed
