Yes,
do you have "doc" in your USE flags?

a simple fix is to do export USE="doc"; emerge glib ... but thats not the
correct thing here, its the fact that glib 2.0.3 doesnt' build wihtout the
documentation settings.. which is bad. :/

If I set "doc" in USE it still dies...

Oh.. odd.. I've filed a bug in bugzilla.gnome.org ... perhaps you should do that
too, further that you have gtk-doc and requirements...

I'm not sure what to do with this....
Comment 4 Spider (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-05-29 13:51:37 UTC
care to check the contents of your /etc/sgml/catalog ?

It should look something like :

CATALOG /etc/sgml/sgml-docbook.cat
CATALOG /etc/sgml/sgml-docbook-4.1.cat
CATALOG /etc/sgml/sgml-docbook-3.1.cat
CATALOG /etc/sgml/sgml-docbook-3.0.cat
CATALOG /etc/sgml/sgml-docbook-4.0.cat
CATALOG /etc/sgml/dsssl-docbook-stylesheets.cat
CATALOG /etc/sgml/openjade-1.3.1.cat
CATALOG /etc/sgml/sgml-ent.cat
/etc/sgml/catalog (END)

Also check your /etc/xml/catalog and make sure it actually is in XML format and
not some garbled piece of junk as some old packages made it.

Comment 6 Bruce A. Locke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-05-30 11:05:54 UTC
A remerge of openjade and a couple dtds fixed this issue... I'm going
to assume a past package broke something considering I've been upgrading
the same install for a few months now...
