I'd love to see a revbump for this as well but the maintainers haven't released any source code--just a precompiled binary with hard dependencies on libpng-1.2 and libjpeg 0.6. :-(
Spoke too soon: It appears that the 1.0.7 source can be had from https://bitpim.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/bitpim/releases/1.0.7/ Testing it now. :-)
Created attachment 254979 [details] bitpim-1.0.7.ebuild I am attaching a 1.0.7 ebuild that uses Subversion since a tarball doesn't exist. All of the 1.0.6 patches were renamed to 1.0.7 and seem to work.
I am also interested in this ebuild, what's necessary to get it in the portage tree? Also, I subscribed to the bitpim-devel mailing list, and I could probably ask to get a tarball cut, but I'm not sure anyone is actually listening to that echo room. Could we cut it ourselves from the source repo? Thanks!
We don't need a tarball cut, that's what <portage_tree>/app-mobilephone/bitpim/files/maketarball is for. I need this too since my fiancée has a VX9200, which is only supported in 1.0.7 and I had to hack a build for it.

Oh yeah, I think the correct practice is to call epatch "${FILESDIR}/${PN}-1.0.6-gentoo.patch", etc. instead of renaming the patch. Quote me if I'm wrong (it wont help you :), but that's what I would do anyway.
[QA] The mobile-phone herd has been dissolved to maintainer-needed due to absence. This package has no maintainer so this bug may go unnoticed for a long time. Gentoo has a dedicated team[1] for assisting users in maintaining orphaned packages. If you are interested in maintaining this package, please contact proxy-maint@gentoo.org. We could remove this as explained at: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=808105 Also this needs wxpython2.8
