Description Calvin 2003-10-17 09:07:37 UTC
I try 2 time to install alsa (i did everything writed on the documentation of the gentoo website except env ALSA_CARDS="via8233" cause when that compile that say the card does not exist...) and 2 time it installed, but don't run and made "unresolved symbol" in a lot of module while the modules-update and the /etc/init.d/alsasound start. And when i reboot :

I lost the support of via-rhine, my network card.
I lost the support of my nvidia driver.
I lost the support of my old card (via82cxx_audio, i got via8233 card).

I tryed to recompile my kernel with the old parameters (from an old backup), same thing.

Bye and sorry for my bad english.

Please be more specific. What did you install for alsa? What kernel are you
using?

Did you maybe only forget to run "make modules" ?
