I got it, printing from gwenview fails only in landscape mode. So, I'm reopening.

Do you still have this problem with the most recent version of gwenview? If yes, could you please file a bug at bugs.kde.org too, and link to it here?!
It seems to be fixed in 4.5.0, at least with the one file I was testing it with now. If I stumble into this again, I'll reopen.

When printing in landscape mode to an HP C7280 printer, gs core dumps and I get the "/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pdftops failed" message.

Please upgrade to cups-1.4.6 in which the issue regarding landscape printing has been fixed upstream.
I still have the problem with net-print/cups-1.4.6 and app-text/ghostscript-gpl-9.01 :(

A check of /usr/portage/distfiles shows no ebuild listed 4.5.0 is no longer the valid candidate. Please downgrade to 4.4.5, or upgrade to 4.6.2. Another problem regarding landscape printing has been fixed with ghostscript-9.02, please test that version and report back. (This bug is probably a duplicate of bug #361527.)
Any news? What happens with gwenview-4.6.3?
