Description Patrik Kullman 2002-05-28 16:43:40 UTC
Under high load, when emerging packages for example, certain applications seize
to function.
For example:
nomego@patrik:~$ su -
Password:
Cannot execute /bin/bash: Bad address

And vim/nano can't be invoked through mutt.
(Usually goes fine from a shell-prompt though.)
(System: linux-2.4.18-xfs with gcc-3.1-r4)
Comment 1 Patrik Kullman 2002-05-29 12:33:24 UTC
It appeared to be yet another bug in a gcc-3.1 compiled portage.
Switched to a gcc-2.95 compiled portage, as of now I haven't been able to
reproduce it.

patrik, is this still an issue?
Comment 3 Patrik Kullman 2002-10-24 05:42:14 UTC
For me, no.. but I don't think anyone ever solved it?

I've recompiled my system with newer gcc's for that to disappear..

closing this bug, since no-one has reproduced this error since..
