I don't think that this ebuild does make any sense as long as the dependencies were not in the overlay.
it's the overlay. although it is bad that dependencies are missing, there is nothing fatal about it.

Hmm. It seems that I bumped whole metapackage by accident (last released is 2.28.0). This should fix it: http://github.com/uzytkownik/gnome-overlay/commit/011af59b583256d48841bf4efcfbbd47e5e4d40a
