Please remove the passage, as it will results in non-english users trashing the system with outdated package. Reproducible: Always
Unfortunately all Russian documentation is outdated and even is unlinked from site (yea, google finds it but that's a different story and see bug 274951 for that). So currently this bug is WONTFIX as fixing one tiny bit does not help here at all.
This is not a solution. - People are not informed about this. - They will start installing, mess the system and summarize that gentoo is not only hard and outdated, but also unusable. By marking as wontfix, we accept this. Handbook is the face of the system. If currently there is no volunteers, please inform me if it is planned to update at least installation handbook. If not, i will gladly start fixing the documentation, given access to commit, starting from bringing russian installation handbook in sync with english page; I have good translation skills in russian, german and english; using gentoo x86_64 as desktop OS. Furthermore, there is independent gentoo documentation project, located at: http://gentoo.theserverside.ru/book/index.html I will additionally contact people above and ask for their opinion to step in, as well.
