When booting the installer on my AlphaServer 800, boot proceeds normally until it reaches the message "Scanning for DAC960...", then it hangs indefinitely. Previously I tried the install-alpha-minimal-2008.0 install CD, but that ended with a Kernel Panic. The part of the panic traceback I could see seemed to indicate it was probing the DAC960 when the panic occurred. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.boot install cd on AlphaServer 800 using aboot 2. 3. Actual Results: System hangs when it tries to probe DAC960 RAID Controller. Expected Results: Boot and bring up RAID controller.
Alright, this was a false alarm, after upgrading the DAC960's firmware to the latest version (4.70), everything seems to be peachy, cheers.
