Whenever i select a file that contains special chars in its name and press "del" or righ-click and then "move to trash" i get a messagebox with the error message: "The file or folder <nameWithASpecialCharLikeè> does not exist. What's the output of "locale"? What type of filesystem is the desktop folder on?

Try setting LANG to a sane value in bash_profile (for you that's probably it_IT.utf8).

It's either it_IT.utf8 or it_IT.UTF-8, at least at default glibc settings. See 'locale -a'.
