Google gears aware web applications's doesn't seem to detect it. They redirect to Gear's installation page which says the browser is not supported!?
This happens for example from Google Documents clicking on the "Offline" button.

Please take a look at the upstream bug:

The short story is that HTML 5 will make Gears obsolete.
