See in attachment patch for dictd-1.8.0, that allow to keep dictionaries in UTF8, and patch client for this.

Hey, i found a small script's that's convert UTF8->CONSOLE CHARSET without
patching of dict-client.

So with this script that you mention, is the patch attached to this bug still
applicable?

No. We can add patch to dict-client or we can use script to converting UTF8->CONSLECHARSET.

But with patch in client is an option (-n) no translate, so we still can
you script withc patched client ;)
