Description Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2010-03-17 16:46:56 UTC
While updating I read this :

...
doman: 'Documentation/*.[157]' is probably not a man page; skipping
>>> Completed installing git-1.6.4.4 into /var/tmp/portage/dev-util/git-1.6.4.4/image/
...

Reproducible: Always

Are there any files missing or is it ebuild QA that you are worried about?

The later, I don't miss files, but either this message is harmless (and should probably be supressed) or it indicates a typo or similar, or ?

If you rebuild the manpages, the makefile places them into Documentation/
If you take the pre-built ones, they are in man[0-9]/*.

Some versions of git in the past have missed packaging some of the manpages, so the built copy kicked in then.

If it really bugs you, we can check for existence of them before running doman, but it's overkill I think.

Not going to fix it for now. reopen if you really want it fixed just to look nice.
