There is no URL http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF5/hdf-java/, only http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF5/hdf-java-2.5 exists. But below http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF5/hdf-java-2.5 there is no hdf-java-2.6-src.tar
only hdf-java-2.5-src.tar.

There's 2.6.1 in http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF5/hdf-java/src/ but no 2.6 unfortunately they seem to be deleting old versions

I have the same problem here.

It tries a lot of different urls and concludes with:

!!! Couldn't download 'hdf-java-2.6-src.tar'. Aborting.

Now emerge want to download hdf-java-2.6.1-src.tar, but it complains about RMD160 verification:

Because it is still impossible to download a working hdf-java-2.6*-src.tar.
