Description Christopher Head 2010-03-15 00:34:02 UTC
When compiling OpenOffice, the following command segfaults in ld-2.10.1.so:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${LD_LIBRARY_PATH+${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}:}/var/cache/portage/app-office/openoffice-3.2.0/work/ooo/build/OOO320_m12/solver/320/unxlngi6.pro/lib /var/cache/portage/app-office/openoffice-3.2.0/work/ooo/build/OOO320_m12/solver/320/unxlngi6.pro/bin/regcomp -register -br ../../unxlngi6.pro/misc/bridgetest/bootstrap.rdb -r ../../unxlngi6.pro/lib/uno_services.rdb -c file:///var/cache/portage/app-office/openoffice-3.2.0/work/ooo/build/OOO320_m12/testtools/source/bridgetest/../../unxlngi6.pro/class/testComponent.jar -env:URE_INTERNAL_JAVA_DIR=file:///var/cache/portage/app-office/openoffice-3.2.0/work/ooo/build/OOO320_m12/solver/320/unxlngi6.pro/bin

I am building on sys-kernel/hardened-sources-2.6.28-r9 with MPROTECT restrictions enabled. Running the command "scanelf -Xxzm regcomp" in /var/cache/portage/app-office/openoffice-3.2.0/work/ooo/build/OOO320_m12/solver/320/unxlngi6.pro/bin first solves the segfault and allows installation to continue onwards. For fear of losing what I've typed already in a browser crash or tab close (since OO takes hours to build), I've submitted this bug before the compile completely finishes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install a hardened kernel with mprotect() restrictions.
2. emerge openoffice-3.2.0

This appears to be irrelevant now. I don't use PAX any more, there are no CCs on this bug, and OpenOffice 3.2.0 is now archaic.

I'm using the current libreoffice and its working fine. Thanks for closing this.
