What is the speed of your connection? I have put you into our testing system and we will monitor it for the next 2 weeks to make sure everything stays in sync.

Thanks,

Mark

Also, please read http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml and make sure your server syncs to the right machine at the correct frequency.

Hi Guys,

I have a 100meg connection the the shared network of the data center. The datacenter is connected as follow :

MCI	Gig-E	Up
Time Warner	OC-48	Up
Level 3	OC-12	Up

Since I am not from the US the OC's doesn't "make sense" speed wise :)

I "build" the mirror using that link. I haven't changed to the main one yet, since it needs approving.

My mirror syncs at 05 and 35 every hour.

Let me know if I over looked anything.

Thanks,

Pieter

Pieter: just wondering, are you still in ZA with that as a remote server or another expat like myself?
Comment 5 Pieter De Wit 2010-03-13 05:47:51 UTC
Haha - expat :) - contact me off "list" :)
Comment 6 Pieter De Wit 2010-03-23 02:50:58 UTC
Hi Guys,

I switched to rsync.us instead of rsync.de as the "source" for my mirror - only saw that in the docs now :)

Thanks

Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added the IP you specified in the bug to our access database, please start syncing to rsync1.us.gentoo.org per our rsync document at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors+subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send our notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! Please also monitor http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org/rsync as this application is used to keep track of the up-to-date nature of our mirrors. You are mirror rsync9.us.gentoo.org in the rsync.us.gentoo.org rotation and have been added to the rsync.namerica.gentoo.org rotation as well.
