can you include emerge info and the output of the error message?

btw, from the previous bug, Error 139 is most probably segfault. you said
you installed from GRP, can you try re-emerging libxml2, because that had
problems with the GRP over-optimising things.

I just tried building again with distcc turned off and it failed per comment
#2.

Comment 4 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-13 02:06:38 UTC
the error is different from #28871. the error that is occuring is :

GCONF_CONFIG_SOURCE= /usr/bin/gconftool-2 --makefile-install-rule ./file-roller.schemas
/usr/bin/gconftool-2: relocation error: /usr/lib/libgconf-2.so.4: undefined
symbol: __libc_multiple_threads

try rebuilding gconf-2 because the one you have seems to be corrupted

er, attached to wrong bug!
Comment 7 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-28 03:11:10 UTC
is there any update on this bug? it seems there's quite a bit of breakage
on your box along with bug 28871. maybe a gcc/glibc update is needed, since
__libc_multiple_threads shouldn't really be missing.
Comment 8 Mark E. Drummond 2003-10-30 09:21:39 UTC
Look's like file-roller was successfully emerged at some point, unbeknownst
to me. I think I did have a gcc and/or glibc update recently so maybe that
fixed the problem. I am going to close.
