Description Jose Gonzalez Gomez 2003-10-10 00:45:26 UTC
I'm not able to select launchers from my drawers using the mouse. This happens
since I upgraded to Gnome 2.4

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new drawer in one of the Gnome panels
2. Add a launcher from menu to the drawer
3. You can open/close the drawer and select any launcher in the drawer using the
mouse
4. Restart X (or Gnome)
5. You can open/close the drawer but you no longer are able to click on any launcher

Actual Results:
As I told you, I'm not able to click on any launcher contained in the drawer.
There are two exceptions to this behavior:
1. I can select a launcher using the keyboard: if I open a drawer and then use
arrow keys, I'm able to select a launcher and launch it using enter or the space
bar.
2. I've noticed that you can click on the launcher using the mouse if you
position the mouse in the border to the left or to the right of the launcher
icon. If you move a few pixels outside or inside, you no longer are able to
click it.

Expected Results:
Launcher icons inside drawers should be clickable using the mouse.

This bug report is valid. I can reproduce its behaviour, and quite frankly
I find it somewhat important since I make heavy use of drawers in my panels
:).

The upstream bug report can be found here: http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121072

I've recently committed gnome-panel-2.4.0-r2 (marked as ~), which comes with
a patch taken from Gnome's CVS that hopefully fixes this problem (and, incidentally,
works for me). Please test it and let us know how it goes.
Comment 2 Jose Gonzalez Gomez 2003-10-10 13:42:34 UTC
The drawers work as expected after emerging gnome-panel-2.4.0-r2.

Thanks a lot !!! I was making precission pointing to click my icons :o)
Comment 3 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-12 10:53:44 UTC
assume that fixes it.

though the drawers did work in both versions for me i have to say.
Comment 4 Scott Minster 2003-10-13 16:40:27 UTC
Emerging gnome-panel-2.4.0-r2 also fixed this problem for me. This version
should probably be considered to be marked as stable so others can get this
bugfix as well.
Comment 5 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-14 00:24:01 UTC
Yes please. The previous version is very annoying to use. Upgrading
fixed the most annoying of the problems.
