Gordon, please note that *some* maintainers (probably most) don't like to be reminded of bumps that early after a release.

How would waiting some days before posting the bump request benefit anyone? I filed it as "enhancement" for a reason; it's not a bug demanding any kind of immediate attention. Whoever deals with this type of bug can ignore until they have time for it.

On the other hand, I don't really mind. 0.8.34 is in the tree now. :)
