Description nvinson234 2010-03-01 02:39:53 UTC
Long story short, I have a bank statement that uses the color a0:00:3c, and when I print it using acroread 9.3 the color printed is a0:ff:3c. Acroread renders it on the screen correctly. I've repeated the test using GIMP, evince, and xPDF and none show the same error. I've also tested acroread 9.3 on Xubuntu 9.10 and did not see the error.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.load test.pdf using acroread 9.3
2.tell it to print

Actual Results:
Printout has two greenish circles.

Expected Results:
The left circle on the printout should have been a redish possibly maroon color (I'm not sure on the name, but it should look reasonably close to what is displayed on the screen.)

This doesn't appear to be acroread's fault. I also generated two PS files (one from my Gentoo box and the other from Xubuntu (which is running inside VirtualBox), and compared them. Other than some minor differences in the comments, the files are identical. This is a bit confusing as the document only prints incorrectly on Gentoo; the Xubuntu setup prints the file correctly.

Printer is an HP Officejet J6480.

Comment 6 nvinson234 2010-03-02 00:11:05 UTC
Did a bit more digging on this. Seems that it is a problem with hplip-3.10.2 and hplip-3.9.12-r1 as reverting back to hplip-3.9.8-r3 is what it takes to fix the problem.
Comment 7 nvinson234 2010-03-07 23:41:50 UTC
verified that it is an issue with the hplip-3.10.2 driver. Upgraded the Xubuntu driver to match and I am seeing the same issue. I am filing a bug upstream.
