Description David Hyunjin Lim 2003-10-08 20:35:35 UTC
Shamelessly ripped from the geomview home page (because it makes more sense than whatever I try to put in there):

--- BEGIN DESCRIPTION

Geomview is an interactive 3D viewing program for Unix. It lets you view and manipulate 3D objects: you use the mouse to rotate, translate, zoom in and out, etc. It can be used as a standalone viewer for static objects or as a display engine for other programs which produce dynamically changing geometry. It can display objects described in a variety of file formats. It comes with a wide selection of example objects, and you can create your own objects too.

Geomview was written at the Geometry Center at the University of Minnesota between 1992 and 1996. Although the Geometry Center closed in 1998, Geomview is still used by thousands of people around the world. Through the volunteer work of the original authors and other volunteers, Geomview continues to evolve.

Geomview runs on most Unix platforms, including GNU/Linux. It is free software available under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (GPL).

--- END DESCRIPTION

Note: I suggest that this is posted to media-gfx/geomview. For now, it requires tk and xforms, but I am trying to rewrite the ebuild so that it does not require these components.

"stdiostream" patch that is required by the geomview-1.8.1.ebuild ebuild

a patch that fixes liboogl problems caused by dependence on older libraries.
Proper attribution is in the ebuild, but I'll list it here anyway. Jose
Espadero, thank you!

geomview-1.8.1-r1.ebuild

Added openmotif as a dependency, and will now actually compile on more systems
(especially those systems that do not have openmotif or lesstif already
installed) Will get working on allowing either openmotif or lesstif later.
Comment 5 Cliff Yapp 2003-12-12 11:31:51 UTC
The graphing package Grace uses virtual/motif - would this do the trick?

geomview-1.8.1-r2.ebuild - Added suggested comments by Cliff Yapp

Made changes that were suggested by Cliff Yapp. Namely, the openmotif
dependency has been changed to use virtual/motif instead.

geomview-1.8.1-r2.ebuild

Resubmission of geomview-1.8.1-r2.ebuild, since the first submission was
corrupted by lynx.
Comment 8 Steve Arnold archtester gentoo-dev 2004-03-05 00:05:04 UTC
Fixed depends and keywords, and cleaned up the logic. 1.8.1-r3 is now in CVS.
