Description Vincent Le Ligeour 2010-02-23 11:49:57 UTC
When updating udev on x86, after a reboot udev will not start anymore. udev init script says :
 * The udev init-script is written for baselayout-2!
 * Please do not use it with baselayout-1!.

udev-149 deprends on >=sys-apps/baselayout-1.12.5

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge new udev
2. try to restart udev or rebooting

While the init script is only for baselayout-2, it doesn't mean it's a bug, it just always gets installed. Baselayout-1 starts udev differently, so just do what the warning says, don't try to use the init script.
