Well, it actually didn't fail, according to the build.log it succeeded despite the apparently corrupted /var/db/pkg/x11-libs/libX11-1.2.2/CONTENTS file you have on your system which confused the hell out of portage. You should probably run fsck or whatnot.
rm -r /var/db/pkg/x11-libs/libX11-1.2.2 solved the problem.
