This version has been in the tree for ~2 weeks, but the 1.0.7 version fixes a lot of problems people are having with the currently stable 1.0.3 which is quite old and no longer matches up-to-date Oracle environments. ruby-oci8-1.0.7 itself has been in the tree for over a month and has no open bug reports. -r1 only fixes some build issues.
What do I need to do here? I can't seem to find any documentation on what to do with a STABLEREQ. I requested that 1.0.7 be stabilized in the first place, so I don't know what to do. Am I to test it on x86 and amd64 platforms? Please advise.

The only thing where we might need your assistance is if arch teams require help. :)

Hello, a member of the x86 architecture team here. :) One of us will take care of stabilising the package by testing it on "our" platform and adding the respective change to KEYWORDS in the ebuild. If you can confirm it working on any platform please tell us as it makes our live easier.
I've been using an x86 compile of 1.0.7 for quite a while now in production with the 11.2.0.1 oracle instantclient oci8 drivers. It works great. I just downgraded oracle my oracle instantclient to 10.2.0.3, and it also compiled in x86 using those libraries and worked great in a few tests I did. I have an amd64 gentoo box, but it isn't anywhere near an Oracle database so I can't test actually using it. But it did emerge fine on amd64 with no errors.
stable x86, thanks Troy
amd64 stable, closing
