However, if flite-1.3 is installed, speech-dispatcher-0.6.7 builds properly.

This is a similar error that was stated in comment #2 in bug 289439.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge flite-1.4-r1 (latest one in ~x86)
2. emerge speech-dispatcher-0.6.7 (needed for KDE-4.4.0 stuff)
3. emerge breaks; KDE ebuild list erased due to unresolved deps

Actual Results:  
emerge breaks

Expected Results:  
emerge succeeds with the latest version of flite

This is now fixed in portage.  Re-emerge speech dispatcher and re-open if the issue is still there.
