Description Nick Fisher 2003-10-06 10:19:33 UTC
cyrus-imapd has a dependancy to ucd-snmp if the snmp use flag is set. I use net-
snmp and have compiled cyrus using net rather than ucd. I got no errors though
I'm not sure how to test cyrus's snmp implementation.

Basicly I have to remove the ucd dependancy every time I want to do a "emerge -
u --deep world" or portage gets unhappy about net-snmp taking the virtual/snmp
slot and cyrus requiring ucd-snmp that also wants the virtual/snmp slot.
It seems that cyrus is perfectly happy with net-snmp (It was writen as a
replcement for ucd) so can we have a dependacy to virtual/snmp rather than
directly to ucd please?

Reproducible: Always

Cyrus doesn't work with anything but ucd-snmp, therefore it has a depend
on that. Next versions of cyrus will supposedly support net-snmp, but this
isn't the case as of 2.2.1-beta.

Bummer! That would explain it.
