Hi,

I understand there are two iSight product IDs, 8300 and 8501. The former gets some udev-rule love by in a patch, the latter is left out in the cold.

Could we also please add a rule for poor old 8501?

the two IDs are absolutely not the same thing, 8300 is for uninitialized isight camera, and it is replaced when the firmware is loaded by the other id.
