Description Thomas 2010-02-12 16:00:26 UTC
Soundcard is detected, but sound is only produced through headphones. Same results when alsa is built as modules.

Either it's solved by alsamixer
or it's something like headphones and internal speakers
being assigned to different soundcards.

Alsamixer settings, of course, was the first thing I tried to resolve the issue. The second card shown on the lspci output is for HDMI use. I have tried the obvious to the obscure. I think it is a true bug.

I still think forum would be a better place for such question.

Do you have pulseaudio installed ?
Any custom alsa files ?

See 'aplay -L' and try to output noise on each device listed
(except for null, obviously).

Fixed using alsa-driver, thanks for your help
