Either it's solved by alsamixer or it's something like headphones and internal speakers being assigned to different soundcards.

The second card shown on the lspci output is for HDMI use. I have tried the obvious to the obscure. I think it is a true bug.
I still think forum would be a better place for such question. Do you have pulseaudio installed ? Any custom alsa files ? See 'aplay -L' and try to output noise on each device listed (except for null, obviously).
