I’m not sure whether I’m at the right place, please divert me with my errand if necessary. Since the package URL is not from KDE, I guess it’s not really their responsibility. I am on a slow connection and with each new release of KDE, I’m sighing again over the size of oxygen-icons. Many files in it are unnecessarily big, some are more than 1MB in size, even though they are just simple SVG graphics. I had a look at them and discovered that, for example, many contain bitmap data, probably leftovers from the design stage. I estimate that from those 130MB, at least a third, if not half, can be cut. Cheers. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Expected Results: Lower package size. :o)
This would have to be taken upstream, as that's where the tarball comes from (mirror://kde/stable/4.4.0/src/oxygen-icons-4.4.0.tar.bz2). We do not repackage upstream tarballs for stable releases.
