PyQt4-4.7 ChangeLog states: 2009/10/23 13:47:27 phil Released as v4.6.1. 2009/08/02 16:20:16 phil Removed the qwt.py plugin for pyuic as one is now included with PyQwt. So I guess this should work with newest pyQt4, but nevertheless blocker should be added into pyqwt ebuild: !<dev-python/PyQt4-4.6.1 @maintainers, could you handle this part?
Why not just depending on >=dev-python/PyQt4-4.6.1 ?
Yup, good solution too.
I have updated dependencies.
Kazuyoshi, please after retest open new bug for keywording on alpha.
(In reply to comment #6) > Kazuyoshi, please after retest open new bug for keywording on alpha. After a `emerge --sync`, by doing `emerge /usr/portage/dev-python/pyqwt/pyqwt-5.2.0.ebuild` (w/ dev-python/PyQt4 installed) I got: !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=dev-python/PyQt4-4.6.1" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - dev-python/PyQt4-4.7 (masked by: ~alpha keyword) - dev-python/PyQt4-4.6.2 (masked by: ~alpha keyword) (dependency required by "dev-python/pyqwt-5.2.0" [ebuild]) (dependency required by "/usr/portage/dev-python/pyqwt/pyqwt-5.2.0.ebuild" [argument]) For more information, see the MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. Then after succesful `emerge /usr/portage/dev-python/sip/sip-4.9.3-r1.ebuild` and `emerge /usr/portage/dev-python/PyQt4/PyQt4-4.6.2.ebuild`, I again did `emerge /usr/portage/dev-python/pyqwt/pyqwt-5.2.0.ebuild` and it was finally built and installed w/o any problems. Could you change the word "~alpha" in the KEYWORDS of the pyqwt ebuild file to "alpha", please? Three further questions. 1. Why is the PyQt4 package masked for x86 arch. w/ KEYWORDS? 2. How should I ask the maintainers of dev-python/sip and dev-python/PyQt4 to change the keywording from "~alpha" to "alpha"? 3. I'm going to see whether a part of the packages which are currently masked for alpha arch. (by "~alpha" or missing keyword) can be ebuild'ed or not. What is the best way to inform the results? Yours, Kazuyoshi

(In reply to comment #7) > (In reply to comment #6) > `emerge /usr/portage/dev-python/pyqwt/pyqwt-5.2.0.ebuild` You should use e.g. `emerge dev-python/pyqwt` or `emerge =dev-python/pyqwt-5.2.0`. > 1.
