Eboard 1.1.1 has a endiannes problem on PPC as shown in the debian bugreport. Their patch in http://launchpadlibrarian.net/22545355/eboard_1.1.1-4.diff.gz solves this issue (and some others). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Eboard on linux ppc arch. 2.connect to FICS 3.submit user name and press enter. Actual Results: CPU hits 100% usage and program hangs Expected Results: being able to submit password
The actual patch in the source code (extracted from the debian bugreport) is http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=30;filename=fsigned-char.patch;att=1;bug=512366 I'm completely new to Gentoo so I don't know how to change the ebuild myself. But I tested compiling the source directly that patch works fine. R.
Oops, I guess this shows how new to Gentoo I am, it was an EXTRA_ECONF issue in the end (I should've read the patch and the man page for ebuild). Anyway, the ebuild still needs to be changed for ppc users.
more a CXXFLAGS issue.. sorry for all the noise. R.
Should be fixed with eboard-1.1.1-r1.ebuild
