Description haarp 2010-02-01 19:38:56 UTC
Could you please add my hdd to the gentoo database of hddtemp?

"SAMSUNG HD103UJ" 194 C "Samsung Spinpoint F1 1000GB 32MB"
"SAMSUNG HD103SJ" 194 C "Samsung Spinpoint F3 1000GB 32MB"

But to be honest, I don't really agree with the way hddtemp currently handles drives. IMO, it should by default use field 194 and only need the database for drives that are known to differ from this. Sort of like blacklisting instead of whitelisting.

Added to CVS. I completely agree that a blacklisting scheme sounds like a better solution, but unless this is implemented by the upstream, we will not introduce this sort of incompatible changes in Gentoo.

Thanks!
I'll bug upstream about black/whitelisting
