Description Sébastien Fabbro (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-01-26 21:09:13 UTC
Hi

François has finally taken the step to become a developer. He has contributed a fair amount in Gentoo, and especially in math and science applications, both in main tree and science overlay. He also took the daunting task to ebuildify the Sage mathematical framework.

I will be his mentor.

Due to the recruiting backlog it will take from some weeks to couple months before we are able to process you. Hopefully this doesn't hurt your contributions too much in the meanwhile.

I will be your recruiter. Please send your quizzes to recruiters@gentoo.org when approved by your mentor. Always add a comment to this bug when you send something to that address. When the quizzes are sent please contact me by IRC or email to schedule the first review session. If you think that recruiters aren't paying attention to this bug at any later point in time, it's your job to ping us on IRC if you don't want any delays.
Comment 3 Thomas Sachau gentoo-dev 2010-07-19 00:01:40 UTC
I have now waited more than a month and did not get an irc ping, no mail and no response in this bug, so i will close this bug as cantfix for now.

Feel free to reopen this bug, when you have interest and time again to become a Gentoo developer.

It looks like I have time again. There is a zero chance of the recruitment process colliding with about 200+ scripts and assignments to mark and the chances of major earthquakes are now quite low for my area.
So hopefully we can see the process to an end.

Please check with your mentor, if your quizzes are still good and then send them to the recruiters alias.

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. I will have to search for the files, fortunately I believe I know where they are. Which irc channel are you usually hanging on?
Comment 7 François Bissey 2012-09-03 00:05:00 UTC
Just a note to say I am not aborting again. I am reviewing/rewriting my quizzes.
Comment 8 Thomas Sachau gentoo-dev 2012-10-30 17:00:47 UTC
Any status update for the quizzes?

For the question about the channels, just randomly join a gentoo channel and your chances are good to see me in there with the nick "Tommy[D]" ;)

Sorry work is landing like a ton of bricks and I am currently troubleshooting a most bizare network problem. I need a nudge to be kept on track at the moment.
The end quiz is not so much difficult than it is exhaustive in some way.
Of course I know why but it still scream at me.
Comment 10 Thomas Sachau gentoo-dev 2012-12-20 17:09:52 UTC
Closing this bug as cantfix for now.

Feel free to reopen this bug, when you have your quizzes ready (acked by your mentor) and have some time left for the review sessions.
