I'm attaching a new ebuild for for app-emulation/qemu-softmmu-0.12.2.
It's being tested only on amd64 stable width "app-emulaton/qemu-softmmu ~amd64", so it probably needs more testing. On AMD64 it works flawlessly.

There is only kvm, no kqemu support (https://bugs.launchpad.net/qemu/+bug/493519) in the latest release. There are lots of bugfixes and improvements. CHANGELOG is here: http://www.qemu.org/changelog.html

I added a new use flag called "bridge". If the user is willing to bridge connections of virtual machines then it requires bridge-utils (which are required by qemu-ifup and qemu-ifdown).
