After leaving it run for about a day or so, it had managed to grow to about 26GB (yes, GB) of RAM usage, according to htop. Needless to say, the system was slowed to a crawl until I managed to kill it. I'm not sure if there's a specific plugin, but I used to leave FF 3.5 open for weeks at a time without concern (100s of MB of RAM, but never multiple GB). I'm going to try to reproduce, but it does take a while.
