cpufreq-set -g powersave leads system to segmentation faults. Hardware: MB: Epox 8RDA3+ CPU: Athlon XP 3200+ (Barton core) RAM: 2*512 + 1024 Mb (dual-channel mode) CPU ACPI in kernel is turned on, powersave and performance governors too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge cpufrequtils 2.cpufreq-set -g powersave Actual Results: Some exetuted applications crashes because of segmentation faults. "leads system to segmentation faults" So trying to use powersave features makes random applications crash?
(In reply to comment #1) > "leads system to segmentation faults" > So trying to use powersave features makes random applications crash? > Exactly!:) Sorry for my english - a little bit out of practice...
This looks like hardware issue (we can do nothing here).
Please attach dmesg and /proc/cpuinfo output.
(In reply to comment #4) > Please attach dmesg and /proc/cpuinfo output. > Please get back to us (also try with a newer kernel like 2.6.32 or 2.6.33)
