When trying to emerge www-plugins/gecko-mediaplayer-0.9.8_p347 (with USE=-gnome) on a non-GNOME system (in particular, gnome-base/gconf is not installed), autoconf (from eautoreconf) fails. The corresponding eautoconf.out contains the line configure.in:96: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_GCONF_SOURCE_2 Please do *not* fix this problem my making gnome-base/gconf mandatory: It would be horrible to have mplayer plugins only on gnome-system! Since the problem did not appear with previous versions of gecko-mediaplayer, I suppose the cause is only that eautoreconf was not called in previous versions gecko-mediaplayer. A simple solution is to patch (in case USE=-gnome) configure.in to replace AM_GCONF_SOURCE_2 by a command which lets also the subsequent automake succeed (which expects that AM_GCONF_SOURCE_2 defines GCONF_SCHEMAS_INSTALL as a conditional). I attach a corresponding patch. Of course, this patch should only be applied in case USE='-gnome' since it breaks the gnome functionality...
Created attachment 217245 [details, diff] Patch to apply (only!) with USE='-gnome' to fix compilation
Thanks! We'll look into it.
