dev-tex/latex2rtf ignores many (most) of LaTeX commands. And even the document, which contains no such commands doesn't compiles into valid rtf file. I think, it's the time to remove this application from the tree. May I quote the website: LaTeX2rtf is a translator program which is intended to translate a LaTeX document (precisely: the text and a limited subset of LaTeX tags) into the RTF format which can be imported by several textprocessors (including Microsoft Word for Windows and Word for Macintosh). which means don't expect magic: there are tons of latex packages that are not supported. Very simple .tex files produce valid .rtf files here (at least ooffice can read 'em). Have a look at tex4ht that, eg, converts .tex to html; it doesn't support everything or may not have perfect support but it is still useful.
