Description Benjamin Zink 2010-01-15 16:35:58 UTC
mozilla-thunderbird-3.0-r1 hangs if I open a new message with enigmail-1.0.0 enabled and not setup. It doesn't hang if enigmail is setup to not mess with the mail or if you have set up a key.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Remove ~/.gnupg and ~/.thunderbird
2.Open Thunderbird and enter account info.
3.Click on an unread message.

Actual Results:
Thunderbird froze again.

Expected Results:
Not froze. Displayed email.

It appears that upon killing the process and reopening Thunderbird that the setup wizard for enigmail launches when you click on an unread message instead of thunderbird freezing.
Comment 2 Jory A. Pratt gentoo-dev 2010-02-06 13:05:24 UTC
This should be fixed in 1.0.1. If you can still reproduce please feel free to reopen bug report.
Comment 3 Benjamin Zink 2010-03-03 03:22:35 UTC
I have tested it with enigmail-1.0.1 and it acts the same way it did with 1.0.0
Comment 4 Benjamin Zink 2010-03-08 06:24:54 UTC
I recently upgraded thunderbird. The bug is present with mail-client/mozilla-thunderbird-3.0.3 with x11-plugins/enigmail-1.0.1
Comment 5 Jory A. Pratt gentoo-dev 2010-04-20 13:00:25 UTC
Please provide strace -f log if you would like help resolving this.
Comment 6 Benjamin Zink 2010-04-24 04:42:39 UTC
I have upgraded Thunderbird to 3.0.4-r1 and it is still present.

@Jory: About which part of the log of strace -f? The log is ~100MB. Perhaps grep for a function call that should happen when you click on a message?

Are you still having said issue with 3.1.7 and current enigmail?

I am currently in a different country than my computer. I apologize, but I won't be able to check if it working for me until June.
