I've installed gs-2.6.32-r1, it works well but when I shutdown the computer, I get a kernel crash. looking at the output suggests using irqpoll (never needed before, actually I've foundout that on new hardware the need to use it goes away when the releases advance) when trying that, my keyboard and mouse/touchpad went crazy. so that fix is a no go. here are some data. p.s. the same config file works with 2.6.32 without any problems. Reproducible: Always

Couple of things: Anything before do_exit on that one shot? Have you tested with vanilla-sources-2.6.32.4 ? Can you test with gentoo-sources-2.6.32-r2. also? If this fails, can you test with git-sources-2.6.33_rc4-r7 or later (if available)?
we'll take one step at a time first I'll try gs-2.6.32-r2, if not helpful, I'll try vs-2.6.32.4 but I don't think I'm willing to try the rcs, I have a rule of thumb, not to use unstable (from the creators) kernels.
it seems that using gs-2.3.23-r2 doesn't crash anymore, I'll mark it solved and reopen it if the issue reoccurs.
I think i have the same problem here but with marked STABLE 2.6.31-r10 I just wanted to open bug, but if it is the same (SIGSEGV while /sbin/hald calling) with previous stable (2.6.31-r6) all is working fine.
