Description urcindalo 2010-01-12 10:34:09 UTC
I can't get the transparency export option for .png files to work. When the output files are open in Gimp, for example, no alpha channel is present.
And yes, both my background and canvas colors are set to "transparent", and "Save transparency" is set when exporting a graph as a .png file.

However, I don't know if this a Gentoo-related issue due to a bug in any of the qtiplot dependencies or it comes from upstream, since I have never got it to work on my Gentoo boxes but there are no transparency related bugs in the official qtiplot bug tracker.

Reproducible: Always

It was an upstream bug. I submitted a bug report and the author apparently solved it:

Thanks for your bug report. I have hopefully fixed the issue in rev. 1548 from SVN.

Please test it and tell me if this works for you.

With best regards,
Ion Vasilief

Since I don't know how to test it, can anyone do it? Or explain to me what must I do? I'm a Pysical-Chemist, not a programmer.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for report. Patch was added in the qtiplot-0.9.7.11-r3.

I'm not programmer too, physicist ;)

Thanks very much for applying the patch. You're doing an amazing job with this package.

On the other hand, I should have reported the bug much earlier to the author :-\
