I see this is a recurring pattern, can we somehow create an ELT patch out of this?
Comment 3 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2010-01-07 10:04:12 UTC
patch added
Comment 4 Alan Hourihane 2010-01-07 10:07:59 UTC
Not come across ELT patches before - if you can explain then it sure would be nice to fix this across packages.
Comment 5 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2010-01-07 10:11:24 UTC
Check for instance eclass/ELT-patches/darwin-conf, there you find a couple of files that patch configure. elibtoolize applies those patches if possible with some magic. It can be used to fix often occurring issues (in older autoconf).
It needs some help from the eclass to recognise new patches, but the most tricky bit is to get the patches right.

Presumably you HAVE to run elibtoolize in the ebuild for these fixes or is it taken care of automatically ?

PS. I can see I need to edit libtool.class and add mint-conf in there.

yes, you HAVE to run elibtoolize
