I have created a Gentoo Source mirror available at http://gentoo.netnitco.net which is syncing against ibiblio every 4 hours (starting at midnight GMT -0500) as stated in the Gentoo source mirror guide. The mirror is also available at ftp://gentoo.netnitco.net/pub/mirrors/gentoo/source/ and could also be made available via rsync. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. New Server 2. 3.
I'm sending you some instructions on accessing our private distfiles mirror. Please update your scripts to point to this mirror.
Looks like you're syncing with OSU now, is that correct?
I've been syncing against ftp.ussg.iu.edu since we were experiencing problems with OSU. I checked this morning and I'm able to connect to OSU again, so I've modified our scripts accordingly.
Do you want me to list the rsync option, or just http & ftp?
I would prefer just the HTTP and FTP options to be listed. My RSYNC load for Portage is pretty descent plus there are a couple of companies doing secondary mirroring off my server, so, I would rather reserve those CPU cycles for Portage and my secondary mirrors.
I've added the FTP and HTTP links to our mirrors page and subscribed <joshadmin@netnitco.net> to our gentoo-mirrors mailing list, where we announce and discuss things related to the gentoo system of mirrors. Thanks for helping to support gentoo linux.
