Description Jory A. Pratt gentoo-dev 2010-01-03 19:55:25 UTC
Anthony has a major desire to see mozilla products and gentoo in general move forward, he has worked with myself and others in many areas of gentoo. His areas of interest will be mozilla products for mips products and to grow into hardened.
Anthony will have many devs to help mentor and guide him threw the dev process.

Who will be the official mentor? Jory you can't mentor yet as a mentor must have been a developer during the previous six months and our records show you coming back in August.

Nirbheek and Redhatter will both mentor through, they are in cc for mozilla team already.

You have CCed hardened. Is that a mistake? Any way either nirbheek or redhatter please acknowledge.

The CC to hardened is not a mistake. I have been helping out there and that's where Anarchy and I met. He convinced me to help out in mozilla and mozilla/mips.

I can confirm for my involvement as mentor.
Comment 6 Gordon Malm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-01-17 11:21:41 UTC
I can vouch for Anthony also. He's a good guy and has helped hardened on many occasions already. I am also willing to help mentor.
Comment 7 Anthony Basile gentoo-dev 2010-02-03 12:30:41 UTC
Progress report: I have finished the ebuild quiz and gotten feedback from Gordon. I have incorporated his suggestions and will pass around my revised answers to my mentors. In the mean time, I started looking at the end quiz.

Comment 9 Anthony Basile gentoo-dev 2010-05-31 14:55:23 UTC
I've addressed the last round of criticisms by nirbheek and bonsaikitten and on their recommendation, I'm ready to submit my answers to the quizzes.

Okay, quizzes emailed to recruiters@gentoo.org

Comment 12 Anthony Basile gentoo-dev 2010-06-13 18:47:08 UTC
I had my interview with my recruiter (Thomas) and revised my answers to the quizzes. I just mailed them off to recruiters@gentoo.org.
Comment 13 Anthony Basile gentoo-dev 2010-06-18 12:58:01 UTC
I had my follow up interview with Tommy[D] and made a few changes to the ebuild quiz which I just fired off to recruiters@gentoo.org.

I've also added chainsaw to the CC list because we've been working together (he has been proxy-committing for me) and he has generously offered to be an extra pair of eyes to watch my commits during my probationary period.
Comment 14 Anthony Basile gentoo-dev 2010-06-23 02:16:09 UTC
I had another follow up interview with Tommy[D] and made some additions to the end quiz. I also corrected a few spelling errors in the ebuild quiz. I just emailed the latest updated versions to recruiters@gentoo.org.
Comment 15 Anthony Basile gentoo-dev 2010-06-25 00:47:58 UTC
I had what should be my final session with Tommy[D] yesterday. I made a small change to the end quiz and sent it off to recruiters@gentoo.org. There was no change to the ebuild quiz.

What we did:
- LDAP
- bugzilla
- cvs/svn/git groups on cvs.gentoo.org
- IRC cloak
- sent you your LDAP/mail password via encrypted mail
- announcement

What you need to do:
- subscribe to mailing lists with your @gentoo.org address
- request forum status bump in #gentoo-forums or by mail to
forum-mods@gentoo.org (if you have a forums account)
- send yourself mail to check if it works
- add yourself to mail aliases ( like java@gentoo.org )
  see /var/mail/alias on dev.gentoo.org
- ask team leads to add yourself to herds.xml for the herds you want to
join or do it yourself if you have the permission to do so
- set lat and lon attributes in LDAP if you want others to know where
  exactly you are located
- set gentooIM if you want people to be able to contact you via other
  means than email
- If you want your blog to be syndicated to planet.gentoo.org, check
  http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/userrel/planet/index.xml
- contact trustees@gentoo.org for Foundation membership (optional)

For the mentor:
- You are also responsible for the commits of your recruit during the first
month so you should watch the commits of your recruit via gentoo-commits
  mailing list.

What needs to be done:
- gentoo-core

Anthony has informed us about this decision in IRC. Giving the usual 14 days to reconsider before proceeding.

Hi Joonas. I've reconsidered and would like to continue as a gentoo dev. While my ability to contribute (due to health reasons) is diminished, there are a few things I can still do. I will be emailing gentoo-core about this.
