I found there are still mentionings of livecd installer in handbook, like in doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml and doc/en/handbook/hb-install-x86+amd64-medium.xml, while livedvd is not mentioned in handbook. So, filing this bug. I will make a patch later. But now I need to go to sleep. If anyone feels this is urgent, welcome to beat me, ;)

Fixed in CVS. I left in the commented sections on the installer livecd, because they'll be useful someday for the old Universal CDs, with the explanatory text and whatnot. But all the displayed text on the installer livecd has been removed.
maybe there is still one place left over, please check http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml # Choosing the Right Installation Medium You can install Gentoo in many ways. This chapter explains how to install Gentoo using the minimal Installation CD although installation through the Installer LiveCD is possible as well. btw, I think the networkless installation is deprecated, isn't it? if so, maybe we should remove mentioning of it as well.

This text is generated from hb-install-x86+amd64-medium.xml -- it is not in handbook-x86.xml. Run "grep" on your docs checkout to see for yourself. > btw, I think the networkless installation is deprecated, isn't it? > if so, maybe we should remove mentioning of it as well. Networkless isn't mentioned at all in our docs in /handbook/, except as a link to the networkless handbooks. Those instructions will still work, since AFAIK the 2008.X media have not actually been removed from any of the mirrors. Since some users still need to install Gentoo offline, I will keep the references to the networkless documentation.
