When I do emerge rsync everything in the rsync seems to be going fine but when the time comes to update the portage cache I get the following error message: >>> Updating Portage cache... /!!! eclass 'ion' in 'x11-wm/ion-devel-20030327' does not exist: ...done! I tried re-emerging portage and also tried different rsync mirrors as suggested about a month ago in the forums for a similar problem without success. Here are my emerge info: Portage 2.0.49-r3 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.3, glibc-2.3.2-r1, 2.4.20-gaming-r3) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.20-gaming-r3 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+ distcc 2.9 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] ccache version 2.2 [enabled] ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /var/qmail/control /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/3.1/share/config /var/spool/uptimed /usr/share/config" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/sound/events /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox userpriv" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/ http://adelie.polymtl.ca/ http://mirrors.tds.net/gentoo http://gentoo.seren.com/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 oss apm avi crypt cups encode gif jpeg libg++ mad mmx mpeg ncurses pdflib png quicktime spell truetype xml2 xmms xv zlib directfb gtkhtml alsa gdbm berkdb slang readline tetex aalib nas bonobo ggi tcltk java guile mysql X sdl gpm tcpd pam libwww ssl perl python esd imlib oggvorbis gtk motif opengl mozilla ldap snmp cdr scanner apache2 dga dvd fbcon gphoto2 gtk2 joystick moznocompose moznoirc moznomail offensive sox sse tiff v4l wxwindows xvid -foomaticdb -mikmod -nls -arts -svga -gnome -qt -kde"
Ooops. Thanks. Fixed by removing the offending (out-of-date) ebuilds.
