Gentoo Bugzilla might not be the correct place to report issues with such ebuilds. The ebuild author should be contacted instead.
FWIW, it seems that xf86-video-displaylink-0.3 is not compatible to xorg-server-1.7.
I informed the ebuild author about the issue. I thought that with increasing distribution of photoframes it would be good to have the drivers in the gentoo portage tree.
Please try the ebuild from the x11 overlay.
