I request marking x11-libs/libgksu-2.0.12 as unstable...this is a bug in it which resolves on applying the attached 01_revert_forkpty.patch in Bug 290733. The Bug is comment #3 in Bug 290733. The patch has neither been added to portage, nor x11-libs/libgksu-2.0.12 has been marked unstable for more than a month. gksu is used by many people, thus x11-libs/libgksu-2.0.12 should be marked unstable immediately or the patch should be put in portage very soon. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Emerge libgksu 2. Use gksu <program> Expected Results: sudo: sorry, a password is required to run sudo
I'm sure Daniel doesn't want to receive duplicate emails...
Well...he appears to have been retired recently. A single package needs to be masked...no one can do that?
Last I checked, I hadn't been retired... As for the bug, I don't see it at all, that's the main reason I haven't gotten around to looking at it. I'll see if I can find any way to reproduce it, so I can test.
Okay, I'm completely unable to reproduce this, even when I manually set tty_tickets. It doesn't happen with either console or X commands. Can you post your /etc/sudoers and the exact commands you're running to get this to happen?
Content of sudoers - # sudoers file. # # This file MUST be edited with the 'visudo' command as root. # Failure to use 'visudo' may result in syntax or file permission errors # that prevent sudo from running. # # See the sudoers man page for the details on how to write a sudoers file. # # Host alias specification # User alias specification # Cmnd alias specification # Defaults specification # Runas alias specification # User privilege specification root ALL=(ALL) ALL # Uncomment to allow people in group wheel to run all commands %wheel ALL=(ALL) ALL # Same thing without a password #%wheel ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL # Samples # %users ALL=/sbin/mount /cdrom,/sbin/umount /cdrom # %users localhost=/sbin/shutdown -h now # add to tips -- Defaults:de timestamp_timeout=0 Defaults targetpw I just have to run gksu <program> to reproduce this.
Currently I'm using libgksu-2.0.9
Okay, I'm able to reproduce it with that sudoers. This is fixed in 2.0.12-r1.
